Kaposi's Sarcoma is a cancer of the small blood vessels of the body, and, while not a leading cause of death among persons with AIDS, it is the second most common opportunistic infection leading to a diagnosis of AIDS.  KS is usually limited to the skin, but may appear in the mouth and throat, and eventually spread to other organs.  KS lesions appear, unlike other cancers which spread, without connection to other KS lesions.  KS lesions usually first appear on the arms and legs.  Symptoms to watch for include:

  12. ‚Ä¢ Reddish blotches on the skin, which in time turn into purplish-red lesions, hard to the touch and raised above the surrounding skin
